2011 Wreck ‘Em – Hit & Run Private drift day

Published on October 25th, 2011 by in Categories

Last week I got the pleasure of being invited to the Wreck ‘Em filming with the Hit & Run Drift Club.

The day was held at Wakefield Park and there were some of Sydney’s best drift cars putting on a show for all to see.

Here are a selection of pics I took on the day, whilst I was between passenger runs with the guys.

To checkout more of this action be sure to look out for the Wreck ‘Em DVD due out soon.

The Road Trip:

Pit Parking was full of some of Sydneys best drift cars:

Some of the action taken on the fly between passenger runs and marshaling.

At the end of the day all the crew from photographers to drivers were well and truly worn out and a few of the cars looked a little worse for wear, Here’s Tommy D’s car at the end of the day still holding strong.

A big thanks goes to the following for having me along and keeping me entertained all day :)

Customer Feature Car – Comic Book Style

Hi All,

I recently had the pleasure of Meeting Wilbur and his Supercharged MX-5, here is a short story on how I assisted him with gaining a new stance and some new rims for his car.

Many months ago when I organised to get my guards rolled by Phill, I didn’t know that he was also able import wheels too.  Whether they be new or used, through the yahoo auctions or otherwise he could get a price, and let me know.

During the guard rolling “day”, it didn’t really take him the whole day to do it, but I sat out there with him just chatting about cars, Skylines, fitment, wheels, the car scene…everything to do with cars. lol.

It was then that he let me know about his wheel services.  So we got to talking about sizes, and fitment, and what I was thinking.  He left with me letting him know that I’d be in touch.

I’m sure he’s come across a few guys like me who like to dream the dream.  So I think he got a shock when I emailed the following night (State Of Origin night) with an auction that was ending in a few hours.  But I had questions about the wheels.  The yahoo ad told me size and offset, but not PCD.  With my fingers crossed I shot through an email to Phill asking about them, and if he could contact the seller (I didn’t know how) to find out the PCD and if it suits, and that I’d buy them as long as the price was within reason (including shipping).

I promptly got a response from Phill, he’d contacted the seller and all seemed sweet.  He also gave me a shipping estimate (time and cost), and let me know that he was going out in a few minutes (for the game no doubt) and to let him know asap so we could nab them up before the auction end.

Five minutes later my bank balance was hating me…and the long wait began.

…I got an email on Friday 2nd of September from PhillB letting me know that the wheels were in Australia and that he would be picking them up on the Monday.  To say I was excited is an understatement.  But, I tried to not be too excited.

On the Monday Phill contacted me so we could organise to get the wheels on ASAP.  I think  he was just as excited as I was.

On Tuesday I managed to get some time off work from Wednesday onwards, and organised to meet Phill, on the way back from one of his jobs, to pick up the wheels.  I also ordered my tyres and booked in fitting and balancing on the Thursday morning.

They were exactly as described in the yahoo auction.  So clean, so very very clean!!  I was lucky.  :)

But then I’d have to wait for the following day to get the tyres on to see if I’d have any guard rubbing issues.  Phill was on standby to massage the guards some more, just incase.

Now the most exciting part of this tale, here is a few pics from Wilbur of the finished product.

If ayone is in need of a professional photographer, feel free to contact Wilbur and he will look after you.

Thanks again to Wilbur for adding another dimension to modifying scsene with your comic book storyline.

Customer Feature Car – Run-it-Hard Nissan Stagea

Published on June 24th, 2011 by in Categories

Hi All,

I woud like to present to you all Adam from Run-it-Hard and his drift spec Stagea Wagon.

Run-it-Hard:

As I’m sure most know, I’ve been trying to fit a fat set of wheels on my Stag for a while now. It’s been pretty tedious getting the 10 inch rears on the car without fouling anything, whilst the fronts needed to be spaced dramatically.

So, after trying multiple things and failing, I figured that flairing the rear guards would be the only way to maximise inner wheel clearance, by reducing camber. So I got in contact with Phil from Phillbenterprises.

Phil managed to pump the rears 15mm, solid effort and now I’m happy to say that I have no more rubbing issues.

If you are after someone to either roll, pump or flare you’re guards, get in contact with Phil, he does a top notch job at a great price … he is also mobile and will come to you!

Phillb: Thanks Adam for your kind words and allowing me to work on your Epic Stagea.

Pics provided by: Run it Hard

And here’s a vid of it in action! Along with some of the crew from Hit and Run and Driving Sports courtsey of SM Photography

Customer Feature Car NA MX-5 – May 2011

Published on May 4th, 2011 by in Categories, Slideshow

Hi All,

I woud like to present to you all John Ha’s MX5.

Firstly a quick snapshot of the owner;

> What made you get into the car scene?

When I was in high school I used to visit the news agency every month after school to check out the latest editions of HOT4s, Fast 4s and rotaries, Car trader and unique cars.

My cousins all had hotted up cars at the time and some of them were featured in autosalon and HOT4s.
Everytime I see their cars I would stare and drool then I said to myself “One day I will get there”.

> How long have you owned your car?

Ive owned this car for about a year now, haven’t driven it yet. (Still in progress)

> What suspension mods have you done?

-Beatrush PPF brace
-Carbing rear strut bar
-Cusco front strut brace
-Super pro bushes
-K sport coilovers

> What are you wheel and tyre spec’s?

Wheels are WORK Meisters in a gold finish
Wheel specs: 16 x 8.5 + 4 offset (front and rear)
Tyre specs: Federal 595 Super steels 205/40/16 front and 205/45/16 rears

> What is your favourite part of your car?

Umm favourite part of the car I have to say is the exterior, the paint, the wheels and the little chequered flag graffic along with the low stance really makes this a “head turner”.

Phillb - Thanks again for your time and I personally can’t wait to see this roll in at the next JDMST Meet.

Now time for some pics :-)

And of course my favourite which speaks volumes for the car community
